Who are we?

Operational since 2015, CBM Rail Australia [ex-TramOBus Australia] is a collaboration between European Partners, OEM’s, local Australian manufacturers, and Australian Rolling Stock engineers that maintains the supply chain for railway rolling stock parts.

Ex-TOBA was acquired by CBM Group in September 2022 and changed name in March 2023 to CBM Rail Australia. CBM Group has already a presence in Australia via its bus subsidiary CBM South Pacific based in Sydney.

CBM Rail Australia & the French sister company have positioned themselves as Global Leader for the supply of rail components, complete overhaul kits and turn-key maintenance services, to Operators worldwide.

CBM Rail Australia has access to a vast stock of critical spare parts at any one time, to support their clients with both reactive repairs and major overhauls, with long-term consignment options, for peace of mind when tackling recurrent accident repairs and/or major service milestones.

Although originally focused on Alstom Citadis fleets, CBM Rail Australia have grown to cater for the needs of Operators/Maintainers of all types of rail vehicles, such as Flexity Classic/Swift, Siemens Combinos and CAF Urbos. CBM Rail Australia have direct access to OEM parts used on the MTM Fleets, especially the X’trapolis and Nexas trains.

CBM Rail Australia are now able to offer services ranging from complete bogie overhaul kits (i.e., for Alstom Citadis Arpege – and could provide most of parts going into an X’trap bogie), as well as Asset Condition Monitoring IoT solutions that can be retrofitted onto existing fleets – with minimal or no wiring involved – coupled with post-processing back-end system running predictive algorithms and user-friendly.

CBM Rail Australia via synergy / partnership are also providing repair & testing services for critical components – that are sometimes obsolete – such as the AGATE Control unit, ONIX Traction Inverters, Door Control Units, RIOMS, VPIS, etc.
